Coronavirus COVID19

Following the Dvsa announcement on the 25Th June, Motoring 2 Day Driving school is pleased to announce that driving lessons and B+E trailer training can resume from the 4th July, The Dvsa will be resuming theory tests from the 4th July and driving tests and B+E tests from the 22nd July. Following the Governments guidance, Motoring 2 Day will be resuming lessons from the 6th July in a phased approach.

Priority will be given to existing pupils that were having lessons up to lockdown, particularly those that have a test coming up in the near future, for those that have an intensive course booked, these will be able to recommence from the 1st September, no further new bookings are being taking at present for intensive courses until further notice. If you are at high risk from Coronavirus, you will have received a letter from the NHS, at present your required to social distance which is not possible inside a vehicle, therefore at present I will not be able to offer lessons to those that are at high risk, I will continue to monitor the government advise and will resume your lessons when it considered safe to do so.

Before commencing with your lessons I ask you to consider the following -

  • Do you live with someone that is in the moderate to high risk group.
  • Have you shown any symptoms of Covid19 such as High temperature, a new continuous cough or loss of taste and smell in the last 14 days
  • Have you been in close contact with someone that has shown symptoms of Covid19 in the last 14 days

Should you be happy with the above and wish to commence with your lessons, then the following procedures to help protect you and your instructor will be in place -

  • Before the start of each lesson, consider whether you are showing any symptoms of Covid19 or if you have been in close contact with someone that is showing symptoms. If this is the case, then you must immediately cancel your lesson, for any cancelations relating to Covid19 then the 48 hour cancelation notice will be waved.
  • Immediately before leaving your household for your lesson, you should clean your hands for a minimum 20 seconds as per the Governments guidance.
  • Please wear suitable clothing and footwear to your lesson, this should ideally cover as much skin as possible.
  • At present face coverings are required to be worn on driving tests and lessons unless you have a medical reason where it’s not safe to do so, it is requested that you please bring your own, this should be applied before entering the vehicle, in the event it fails i.e tears on the lesson, your instructor will be able to provide a disposable replacement. Hand sanitizer will also be readily available in the vehicle. Should this change and no longer be required I will notify you.
  • Before entering the vehicle, your instructor will prepare the vehicle for your lesson, this includes a full wipe down of the vehicles interior and exterior handles. You will be required to wait outside the vehicle while this is being done.
  • Before entering the vehicle and while on a lesson, your instructor may ask you questions if you show any symptoms of Covid19, should they not be 100% happy, they reserve the right to cancel the lesson and request you wait 14 days before recommencing any future lessons.
  • Should the instructor have to provide a demonstration or touch the controls throughout the lesson, the touched areas will require a further wipe down at the earliest convenient time, should the pupils and instructor's hands touch then they both should sanitize their hands at the earliest convenient time.
  • The pupil and instructor should avoid directly facing each other, where possible the cars windows should remain open.
  • A parent or friend will not be able to accompany you while on a lesson.
  • The preferred payment method for your lesson is direct bank transfer, this should be received prior to the start of your lesson.
  • When attending a test, your instructor will require time on arrival to clean/prepare the vehicle for your test and for the examiner, it may not be possible for you both to be able to attend the waiting room, your instructor will advise on the day.
  • Your instructor will not be allowed to accompany you while on test and may not be allowed to accompany you during the debrief.

Before commencing your lessons, I will require it in writing either via text or email that you have read and understood the above. For matters relating to non Covid19, please see the standard terms and conditions in the following link.

If you had lessons prior to lockdown and wish to cancel all future lessons, please notify me as soon as possible, refunds will be given for any remaining prepaid hours and the £15 administration fee normally applied will be waved, due to extreme nature of the current circumstances, I may not be able to immediately refund the monies but will endeavour to refund you within 4 to 6 weeks.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Many thanks Chris
